While studying about President's Day earlier this month, the kiddos expressed an interest in learning more about coins. We have been practicing identifying and counting coins during our morning calendar time all year, but we recently added in the following songs and a special poem (recited by the frog room kids below!)
Coins will begin to pop up in our math curriculum very soon. It would be excellent practice if you could encourage your child to work on identifying, counting, adding, and subtracting coins at home!
Thank you so much for a fabulous baby shower! The parent volunteers and kids did a great job putting everything together and I felt so honored and blessed to be surrounded by such love and support. We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Baby Eli and I can't wait to bring him home to meet all of you very soon! Thanks again!
(I took some of these pictures in a program that won't let me rotate them...I apologize in advance for the kink in your neck from turning your head to the left!)
Valentine's Day in the Frog Room was a blast! Here are some pictures from the "Boys Only" lunch with Mr. Nelson, the "Girls Only" lunch with Mrs. Nelson, and the class Valentine's Day party.
Enjoy!
March Conferences are just around the corner! Because I will be in Ghana on the previously scheduled conference date (Monday, March 4), I will be holding my conferences on an as-needed basis on Monday, February 18 (President's Day.) New Groningen will be closed on that day, but I will be in my classroom.
I will be contacting the families that I feel I need to schedule conferences with by the beginning of next week; however, please know that I am more than willing to meet with anyone who is interested!
If you feel that the March report card will not provide enough information and you would like to set up a meeting for Monday, February 18, please submit the form below and I will be in touch via email.
Thanks!
