Halloween - part 1 - was a blast!

We started our energy-filled morning by practicing our Halloween songs and poems together.   Check out our dancing skills...

After a fun morning, we all had a great time dressing up, playing games, and seeing friends at the Penny Carnival in the afternoon.  After filling our hand-painted bags with candy, our costume parade made its way through the halls and ended up back in the frog room for a fabulous party put together by our room moms!

Keep an eye out for your little pumpkin in the photo gallery below!
Check back for Halloween - part 2 - after Monday!

On Wednesday afternoons, we take a quick break from our typical Math Expressions lessons and we dive into exploring "work places" together.  The students are introduced to each of the stations earlier in the week (as whole group activities) and they get to explore, problem solve, and create together in small groups during Wednesday Work Places.

Here are some pictures from our work places today:
Matching addition problems, putting numbers in order, sorting even and odd, practicing fact families, counting and comparing coins, and counting by 2's and 5's has never been so fun!    Hands on learning really does make all the difference in the world -- especially on a rainy (read: indoor recess!) kind of day!

We had a phenomenal Monday in the Frog Room!
Thank you so much for your delicious donation of apples -- we had quite the variety for our day of learning.
