Wow!  What a fantastic couple of days in the Frog Room!  If you have never experienced the magic, excitement, and energy of Halloween in an elementary school, you're certainly missing out!
Our class celebrated "Pumpkin Day" on Thursday with lots of fun pumpkin-themed activities and our highly-anticipated pumpkin science and math investigations.  We ended our day by carving pumpkins in small groups with parent volunteers and eating a special pumpkin snack.  It was a blast!

Thank you to Mrs. Lencioni, Mrs. Corder, and Mrs. Anderson for helping with this fun day!
Friday was another day filled with fun!  We kicked off the festive morning by having TWO special guest mystery readers -- Mr. Nelson and my son, Elias!  Eli couldn't wait to show the first graders his elephant costume, and the kids had a lot of fun teaching him all about our classroom.  Our mystery readers also brought us a special snack that they made together: our pumpkin seeds from Thursday's science investigations! The kids loved tasting their special cinnamon-sugar roasted recipe - yum!
After lunch, we had the New Groningen Penny Carnival and our class Halloween Party; what a wonderful afternoon!  We had close to 20 parent volunteers in and out of our classroom on Friday and I was absolutely blown away by how smoothly everything went.  THANK YOU to all of you who helped plan, donated supplies, zipped up costumes, decorated our classroom, ran stations at the party, made our first graders smile, and even cleaned it all up afterwards,  Bless your hearts!  You sure made my job easier, and I loved getting to enjoy this special day with the kiddos who are so dear to me.  THANK YOU!
I sure hope that you're all able to enjoy a relaxing Fall weekend with your families after such a busy and fun-filled week!
