Interactive technology has dramatically impacted teaching and learning inside our classroom this year. It has revolutionized my ability to engage each different learner, and it has empowered your children to take control of their own learning in a hands-on and student-directed way. Our class utilizes the iPad, the technology cart, and the Smart Board for every subject of every day, and we are seeing the benefits in our test scores and in our shared passion for learning.
As you know, ZPS is committed to individualizing student learning through the use of technology. I was recently given the great honor of being recommended to serve on the new district-wide Technology Planning Team. As a team, we are in the process of creating a new 3 year plan that focuses on how we will sustain technology and be innovative leaders in education while focusing on the instructional needs of each student.
Because of the exciting strides that our class has made to this end, I was asked to give a presentation for the Zeeland Board of Education this week. I am completely honored and grateful to have the chance to speak to such an inspiring and influential group of people and I can't wait to share your children's stories with them! I am humbled that the Board would be interested in what happens inside our little Frog Room each day, and I believe that alone speaks volumes about our district and our community!
